Lucious (Terrence Howard) found out that his ALS diagnosis was a little off the mark in the latest episode of Empire.
After experiencing symptoms that weren’t typical of ALS, Lucious went to see the doctor and found out the condition he actually has is myasthenia gravis which isn’t quite the death sentence that ALS is. After finding out, Lucious had some severe hallucinations in his sleep and accidentally told Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) that he killed Bunkie (Antoine McKay). Cookie picked up a pillow in rage and looked like she was about to smother him.
Elsewhere in the episode Jamal (Jussie Smollett) helped his father write a song and was promised Empire in return provided he shake up Baretti (Judd Nelson), Andre (Trai Byers) felt closer to God thanks to Michelle (Jennifer Hudson) and was devastated when Lucious offered her a record deal to ruin their relationship, and Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) slept with Anika (Grace Gealey) which his father saw.
The season finale is Who I Am. Lucious announces his decision about who should run Empire. Anika counsels Hakeem, Vernon confronts Andre, while Cookie is cooking up a plan.
