UnREAL 1×01 Return preview

The much-buzzed show arrives on Lifetime in the UK.

UnREAL

Lifetime’s hottest new show UnREAL is making its way over to the UK next week.

The drama dishes up a fictitious behind-the-scenes glimpse into the chaotic world of reality TV and stars Shiri Appleby (Roswell), Constance Zimmer (House of Cards) and Freddie Stroma (Harry Potter).

Set against the backdrop of the fictional hit dating competition show Everlasting, UnREAL follows the daily working lives of the crew, proving just as much drama happens off camera. It’s Rachel Goldberg’s (Shiri Appleby), the show’s young and talented producer’s, sole job to play puppet master with the show’s contestants, manipulating them to capture the vital dramatic and outrageous footage.

Fighting against her own dark past and tired of the programme’s dispassionate executive producer Quinn’s (Constance Zimmer) demands, how much more of the back stabbing and games is Rachel willing to take?

In the first episode Return, Rachel is back for her second stint as producer on Everlasting, under Quinn’s rule. With too much personal history on set, including an ex-boyfriend camera man (Josh Kelly) and the shame of her explosive exit from the previous series, Rachel is reluctant to return. Finding herself in dire need of money, Rachel is driven back to the Everlasting set, where she tries to prove that she has changed and is ready to play the twisted game of reality TV.

UnREAL kicks off Tuesday 7 July at 10pm, brand new and exclusive to Lifetime. Preview the first episode with our gallery below:
