X Factor 2013 winner Sam Bailey dropped by Syco

The singer parts ways with her label after only one album.

Sam Bailey

Sam Bailey has been dropped by Syco less than 18 months after she won The X Factor in 2013.

The singer confirmed the news today on Twitter posting:

Sam released her debut album The Power of Love in 2014 and it sold over 200,000 copies in the UK. The album was the second fastest-selling album by a female artist last year and was re-issued prior to Christmas with additional tracks.

After winning The X Factor in 2013, Sam scored a Christmas number one with her debut single Skyscraper. She is currently in the midst of a UK tour which ends at the Eventim Apollo in London on Wednesday.

The X Factor’s 2014 winner Ben Haenow will be hoping he has more success than Bailey when he releases his debut album later this year.
