QualityTime app launches on Google Play Store

ZeroDesktop have launched QualityTime, a self-help Android app that allows you to reduce, monitor and be aware of the amount of time you spend on your smartphone and favorite apps. The app provides a fun, visual, and easy-to-navigate personal log or “timeline” of your smartphone use. It even gives the option to share your mobile use times on social media with friends.

With statistics showing that most people sleep next to their smartphones, and 90% regularly overuse their device, QualityTime is ideal for those suffering from smartphone addiction – or for those who are simply curious about how much time they spend on popular apps such as Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp. Users can also switch off from their smartphone completely by choosing to “lock” their screen for set periods of time.
Smartphone use has become so widely integrated into our everyday lives, it’s difficult for people to realize just how frequently and compulsively they use their phones. If you asked me whether I’m addicted to my smartphone, I would say absolutely not. Then I discovered that I spend 3 hours a day on my phone simply out of habit. QualityTime details smartphone and app use both in terms of frequency and duration, allowing you to understand your smartphone habits and trends – whether it is how often you unlock you phone, a specific app you keep revisiting, or a certain time of day you most use your phone.
The QualityTime app summarizes daily or weekly phone use including total app usage, phone unlock frequency, and detailed reporting – known as your “digital diet”. You can also create alert notifications or external alerts to the Internet of Things (IoT) when exceeding general device or specific app use. Whether you’ve managed to avoid Candy Crush Saga for a whole week, or just broke your own personal record for watching films on Netflix, you can choose to Tweet or Facebook your specific stats and compare with friends. The app runs in the background and can be seamlessly used as part of your every day routine, but provides summary stats as and when you need them.
We’ve all noticed that habitual phone-checking is the norm – whether you’re bored, tired, eating dinner or chatting to friends. In 2017, more than half the population of the world will own a smartphone, and so this is a phenomenon that will continue to grow. We are always looking for new ways to help people understand their digital diet and use their time effectively, and this is our latest solution.
QualityTime can be used by everyone – from teenagers, students, and working professionals who need to curb their phone usage habits before an important exam or work deadline, or those who just want to ensure they get enough quality time doing what they love. The ZeroDesktop team has extensive experience in developing Cloud Control apps and software; similar projects are often aimed at School Age or Pre School children, while QualityTime has been developed for the wide range of people who own smartphones.
