Comic book fans can breathe a sign of relief as Fox has announced that Gotham will be back for a second season.
The origin show that focuses on James Gordon’s (Ben McKenzie) early years and the youth of comic book characters such as Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle, has received a mixed reception from critics and fans since it debuted in 2014. Despite that the show has pulled in solid ratings and is one of the Top 5 new shows of the 2014-15 season.
It was also announced at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that Fox has renewed new drama Empire after only two episodes and that hit comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine starring Andy Samberg will be back for a third season.
Empire has yet to find a home here in the UK. Gotham is currently on hiatus but airs on Channel 5 and the second season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine just kicked off last week on E4.
