The Swon Brothers have released their self-titled album as a digital only release in the UK.
The brothers – Zach and Colton – rose to fame on season 4 of The Voice US with Blake Shelton as their mentor. They reached the Top 3 in the competition and formed a close bond with Shelton who helped them navigate the music business.
āI feel really blessed to be a musician because Iāve never taken a lesson on any instrument,ā says Zach. āDrums, I just picked up naturally, and I got a chance to watch a lot of good players throughout the years with my parents, and they all showed me stuff.ā
The Swon Brothers features 11 songs such as energetic sing-alongs Later On and What Iām Thinking About alongside laid-back, classic country heart-drenchers like Chasing You Around and Same Old Highway. They co-wrote with Charles Kelley from Lady Antebellum on album track Songs That Said It All.
āMy brother ran into [Lady Antebellumās] Charles Kelley at an Eagles concert in Nashville, and he was kind enough to say, āHey, letās get together and write,āā recalls Colton. āAnd we exchanged numbers and wrote that song with him and Dave Haywood the next week. Weāre really proud of it since itās the song we co-wrote together on the album.ā
āWe didnāt really have a formula,ā Zach says talking about the songs on the album, ābut we picked songs that ā while musically different ā allow our harmonies to lay in perfectly. I think thatās whatās going to be the tie that binds everything together on this project.ā
