Cast announced for all-female Henry V

In the year of Shakespeare’s 450th anniversary, it’s time to celebrate the Bard with an innovative all-female production of his most enduringly popular historical play, Henry V.

Henry V will mark the final offering in the award-winning Lazarus Theatre Company’s year-long celebration of all things Shakespeare. The show is adapted and directed by Lazarus’ artistic director Ricky Dukes..

Returning to the company to play the heroic and triumphant King Henry is Colette O’Rourke. Colette’s previous Lazarus credits include Jessica in The Merchant of Venice at The Brockely Jack in 2013, and Cressida in Troilus and Cressida at The Tristan Bates Theatre in 2014.

“The opportunity to play such a significant Shakespearian and historical character is thrilling, especially one that is usually reserved for the boys. I don’t think opportunities like this come round that often,” Colette O’Rourke said on being cast in the title role of Henry V.

Also returning to the company, Catherine Thorncombe plays the roles of Catherine and Montjoy, Micha Colombo plays the roles of Fluellen / Exeter and Rosanna Lamb returns to play the roles of Westmorland / Constable.

Making their Lazarus debut, are Rehanna Macdonald, Elena Voce, Louise Goodfield, Nuala McGowen, Becky Borland, Grace Andrews and RJ Seeley.

You can see Henry V at Waterloo East Theatre from 11th – 29th November.

Tickets are available from www.waterlooeast.co.uk or 020 7928 0060.
