The Minister of Chance film

We’ve just watched the prologue to the movie version of The Minister of Chance, the sonic sci-fi film with the star-studded cast.

The opening sequence depicts Paul McGann (Doctor Who, Withnail & I) reprising his role of Durian, the smooth-talking Ambassador of the Sezuan who leads a stealth invasion of Tanto. In the movie, he squares up against Tim McInnerny (Blackadder, Edge of Darkness) who plays the King of Tanto. They are two terrific actors and their confrontation sets up the rest of the film.

From what we’ve seen, we’re excited to see more!

The sequences of film so far in the can have been shot in Cheshire, on location at a gorgeous Tudor property, with lavish costumes and CGI effects. It’s directed by Dan Freeman, who has also written the piece.

At the moment, not everyone can see the film prologue, as it’s available only to the Moguls who’ve supported the Minister of Chance, and for anyone who purchases a cinema ticket from the shop. You can check out the original audio series by downloading it for free from the Minister of Chance website, and see a sneak trailer for the movie above.

Remember that you can get involved to help the movie happen, as it’s reliant on fans spreading the word. If you’re on Twitter then you can tweet your thoughts with the hashtag #TheMinisterofChance and follow the team for updates @MinisterChance.
