The Walking Dead renewed for fifth season

Only three episodes into its fourth season hit AMC show The Walking Dead has been renewed for a fifth season.

The show’s early renewal comes as no surprise after it smashed ratings for AMC on its return recently. New showrunner Scott M. Gimple will return with the show’s fifth season but its too early to confirm which cast members will be coming back.

When breaking the news AMC president Charlie Collier said, “We are very happy to make what has to be one of the most anti-climactic renewal announcements ever: The Walking Dead is renewed for a fifth season.”

It’s expected that the fifth season will run for 16 episodes with a split run over 2014 and 2015 but this is yet to be confirmed.
