True Blood renewed for a seventh season

True Blood will be returning for a seventh season it has been confirmed.

TVLine reports that HBO has renewed the show, which is currently in the midst of its sixth season. In a statement HBO president Michael Lombardo said, ‘True Blood remains a signature show for HBO, and a true phenomenon with our viewers.’

The show returned in the states a few weeks ago and drew an audience of 4.5 million for its season six premiere. True Blood is due to air in the UK towards the end of the year.

Brian Buckner will return as the showrunner for the new season.
