This summer, for one night only, the home of British film making will become the setting for a night of cinema under the stars. The Luna Cinema – Britain’s finest outdoor cinema experience – ran a public vote for fans of Pinewood to cast the votes on the best classic movie made at the studio. The winning entry would then take centre-stage at a special Luna Cinema public screening.
With a history unsurpassed in British cinema, Pinewood Studios has been the location for some of the most iconic films ever made, from Carry On to James Bond! Â They asked the public to vote for the greatest film ever shot at Pinewood.
The short list included ten absolute classics from the studio’s history and after over 3500 votes were cast, the winner of the title of ‘the greatest film ever shot at Pinewood’ was revealed to be…
Aliens.
James Cameron’s 1986 classic beat off competition from The Great Gatsby, Batman and last year’s box office smash, Skyfall to be crowned the greatest of all time!
