#Holiday Anthems album review

Against all odds the sun has finally come out here in the UK and it’s time to start preparing for your summer holiday. Whilst you dream of sun-drenched beaches and beautiful blue oceans, you’ll also want to compile a playlist of the best music to keep you company. New compilation #Holiday Anthems is saving you the bother offering a spectacular 60 tracks spread across three discs for your listening pleasure.

#Holiday Anthems features a collection of dance hits from over the last 20 years that is sure to keep any dance music fan happy. Opening with David Guetta and Sia’s smash-hit Titanium, the collection gets off to a strong start. Scanning over the 3-discs it seems there’s quite a variety of music on offer and there are plenty of songs that will take you back to some great memories. Classics such as Fragma’s Toca’s Miracle, Olive’s You’re Not Alone and Madison Avenue’s Don’t Call Me Baby sit neatly alongside more recent chart hits such as Cheryl’s number one smash Call My Name, Calvin Harris’ smash hit Bounce featuring Kelis and Rihanna’s monster hit Only Girl (In The World).

The best moments on the compilation come on the older hits with songs such as Livin’ Joy’s Dreamer, Nightcrawlers’ Push The Feeling On and Faithless’ classic Insomnia making you want to reach for the glow sticks. Our favourite track featured here is Rosie Gaines’ dancefloor smash Closer Than Close. The track was a hit when it was first released and it sounds great to hear it again after all these years.

There’s a couple of cheesier numbers on here too such as Cascada’s Evacuate The Dancefloor and Pitbull featuring Afrojack, Naya and Ne-Yo in the hit Give Me Everything. Whilst we don’t love them, they fit nicely with the rest of the tracks selected for this collection.

#Holiday Anthems is pretty much what you expect it to be. It’s jam-packed with dancefloor stompers old and new, and will be the perfect selection to listen to as you jet off to a sunny destination for your summer holiday. It’ll also be played for years to come as youngsters far-and-wide get ready to go out on the town for a big night. #Holiday Anthems is pure, unadulterated, dance-music fun for all ages.
