First look at The Walking Dead’s fourth season

The first image from the fourth season of The Walking Dead has been released.

AMC released the image featuring Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in the woods with a walker lingering in the backdrop. There’s no context given for the photo but we’re pretty excited to be seeing something so early.

The fourth season will return in October for a new run of 16 episodes. Andrew Lincoln will return of course alongside Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan and Danai Gurira. It has been confirmed that Melissa McBride, Scott Wilson, Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green and Emily Kinney will return as series regulars. David Morrissey will also return as the Governor. Melissa Ponzio will return as former Woodsbury resident Karen.

The fourth season will be the first with Scott Gimple as the showrunner taking over from Glen Mazzara,

It is thought that that fourth season of the show will jump forward in time by a few months. The end of the third season saw the Governor turn on the people of Woodsbury and disappear. Laurie Holden exited the show as Andrea as did Dallas Roberts as Milton.
