Watch: Drake White shares his inspirational journey with Kelly Clarkson

In case you missed it, country-soul troubadour Drake White appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show on October 25, joined by his wife, Alex, to share the powerful, inspirational story behind his latest album ‘Low Country High Road.' The Alabama-born singer-songwriter opened up about his life-changing experiences, including a 2019 on-stage stroke, a challenging recovery, and the joys of newfound fatherhood.

During the two-part interview, White reflected on the resilience required to overcome his health battle, as well as the five-year journey he and Alex faced with infertility before welcoming their son, Hawk, in 2023. Through it all, these personal milestones have deeply influenced his latest work, which explores themes of love, gratitude, and perseverance.

Released in September, ‘Low Country High Road' is White’s third studio album and marks a fresh chapter in his career. Tracks like the reflective ‘Life, Love and War,' the playful '10 Lbs of S#!T' and the gospel-tinged ‘Faith' reveal a newfound appreciation for life’s small miracles. The album’s 13 songs, each co-written by White, blend soulful storytelling with a rootsy, high-energy sound that celebrates love, fatherhood, and resilience.
