On Monday night (11/17), country-soul powerhouse Drake White transformed Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium into a beacon of hope, healing, and community during his second annual Benefit For The Brain charity concert. Playing to a completely sold-out crowd, White led an evening that married music with mission, raising funds for Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee, CreatiVets, and the Miracle Hope Foundation—all while surpassing last year’s impressive 2023 fundraising total.
The night’s emotional core echoed throughout “the Mother Church of Country music,” where White and a star-studded lineup delivered unforgettable performances. Joining him onstage were Riley Green, Jon Pardi and Kassi Ashton, as well as surprise guests Jessi Alexander and Randy Owen of Alabama. The show was guided by host Miles Adcox, a renowned emotional wellness expert whose compassion and insight helped tie together the evening’s celebration of mental health, recovery, and resilience. The night’s efforts were generously supported by sponsors including Freedom Door Specialists, Banded, The Fowl Life, JOCKEY, and Nashville Palace.

White delivered a riveting headline set, effortlessly blending vulnerability, warmth, and his signature high-energy grit. Audience favorites such as ‘Makin’ Me Look Good Again,' ‘Power of a Woman,' ‘Mix ‘Em With Whiskey,' and ‘Livin’ the Dream' rang through the Ryman rafters. A particularly moving moment came when Randy Owen joined him for ‘Mountain’s Melody' and the Alabama classic ‘Dixieland Delight,' electrifying the room. Jessi Alexander also surprised fans when she joined Riley Green for a stirring duet of ‘Don’t Mind If I Do.' Throughout the night, Green, Pardi and Ashton each delivered powerhouse performances of their own, leaving every ounce of passion on the stage. The concert closed with a massive standing ovation—an emotional, fitting finale to a night defined by unity and purpose.

Between sets, the evening deepened its mission through reflections from guest speakers Richard Casper (CreatiVets), Ed Clay (CPI), Griffin Moore (Paradigm), Beth Touris (Make-A-Wish), Tommy Aceto (Neuroscience & Wellness Initiative), and Rikki Harris (TN Voices). Their insights on mental health advocacy, innovative therapies, recovery pathways, and community support reinforced the heart of Benefit For The Brain: bringing light to the struggles that often happen in silence.
This year’s program also featured the event’s first-ever silent auction—and every item sold. Fans enthusiastically bid on a Charlie Daniels–signed fiddle, an Old Dominion–signed guitar, Chicago Cubs field box tickets, a limited-edition print by Nashville artist Jason DeMeo (Jase), a helmet autographed by Tony Pollard, and multiple Nashville SC packages including signed jerseys from Hany Mukhtar and Sam Surridge, along with game tickets and a training session for up to eight young fans. The overwhelming support reflected the community’s passion for both the cause and the music.
Benefit For The Brain, founded by White, funnels its proceeds into three areas close to his heart: mental wellness for military members and veterans, especially those battling PTSD; brain health in children and adolescents; and groundbreaking approaches to stroke recovery and neurological care. The inaugural 2023 instalment—also a sold-out Ryman event featuring stars like Riley Green, Randy Houser, Jamey Johnson, and Colbie Caillat—raised over $250,000.
White’s personal journey gives the benefit its emotional gravity. In 2019, during a performance in Roanoke, VA, White suffered a life-threatening stroke mid-song as he played ‘The Coast Is Clear.' He was later diagnosed with Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) and underwent seven complex brain surgeries. With the steadfast support of his family, friends, fans, and neurosurgeon Dr. Mericle, he fought through months of uncertainty and pain—emerging not only with renewed determination but with a mission to help others facing battles “between the ears.” His triumph over adversity became the catalyst for launching ‘Benefit For The Brain' in 2023.

Alongside his philanthropic work, White’s music career continues to surge. Following the release of his newest single, ‘Tradition' (November 2025), he shows no signs of slowing down. He is currently on the road as a supporting act on the Riley Green: Damn Country Music Tour and will headline his Keep It Movin’ Tour this fall. In 2026, he’ll join Green once again on the Cowboy As It Gets Tour. Fans can also catch him at various shows and festivals with country staples such as Chase Rice, Travis Tritt, and Colt Ford.
As Drake White’s influence and impact continue to grow, so does the reach of Benefit For The Brain, proving that music not only entertains—it heals, inspires, and brings communities together when it matters most. For more information or to support the initiative, visit the event’s official site.
