Noeline Hofmann to make international debut following release of new ‘Purple Gas’ EP

Rising Canadian singer-songwriter Noeline Hofmann is bringing her distinct voice and heartfelt songwriting to a global stage. Last October, she released her debut EP ‘Purple Gas' via La Honda Records. The seven-track collection features standout songs including the title track, ‘Rodeo Junkies,' ‘August' and ‘Lightning in July (Prairie Fire),' offering a compelling glimpse into Hofmann’s storytelling style and unique perspective.

This summer, the 21-year-old artist will make her debut in the UK and Ireland with a string of high-profile shows. Hofmann is set to open for Zach Bryan at three nights in Dublin’s Phoenix Park and two dates at London’s BST Hyde Park. She will also support Turnpike Troubadours on stops in Manchester, Birmingham, and London.

Zach Bryan recently covered Hofmann’s ‘Purple Gas' on his latest album, marking the first time he’s ever included a song by another artist on a record. Speaking about the track, Bryan said, “I have never covered another musician on an album and it’s because I was waiting on someone to write a song like this. Noeline resonates like Gillian Welch to me and Gillian is one of my favourite musicians to ever live.”

In discussing the meaning behind ‘Purple Gas,' Hofmann explained the title’s roots in rural Alberta, where the colored fuel is used by farmers and ranchers. “The title of this project is a metaphor. In my mind, purple gas symbolises resilience and the rural attitude of where I'm from,” she said. “The songs on this project have been the petrol in my tank, fuelling every step taken while I run after my north stars and follow the constellation's lead off the beaten path.”

She wrote most of the EP’s songs between the ages of 18 and 20, capturing what she describes as a raw and formative time in her life. “I’ll never quite be the same girl who wrote those songs again. The project is a time capsule,” she said.

Since its release, Hofmann also made her Grand Ole Opry debut, further solidifying her as a standout new voice in the genre.
