Just one week after the record-breaking release of her latest album ‘The Life of a Showgirl,' which earned over 4 million equivalent album units in the U.S., Taylor Swift is set to make her return to Disney+ with two highly anticipated projects celebrating her global phenomenon, The Eras Tour. The streaming platform will debut ‘Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era,' a six-episode behind-the-scenes docu-series, and ‘Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show,' a full concert film capturing the final night of the historic tour. Both will premiere on December 12 exclusively on Disney+.
The End of an Era offers an in-depth, never-before-seen look at how Swift’s record-shattering tour came together and the massive cultural impact it generated around the world. The series follows Swift behind the scenes as she navigates the intensity of life on the road, while also highlighting the contributions of those closest to her — including fellow artists and friends such as Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, and Florence Welch. Two episodes will premiere each week beginning December 12, giving fans an intimate look at the making of one of the most talked-about tours in music history.
Meanwhile, ‘The Final Show' captures the full concert from the last stop of The Eras Tour in Vancouver, B.C., marking the first time performances from ‘The Tortured Poets Department' will be included in a concert film. Directed by Glenn Weiss and produced by Taylor Swift Productions in association with Silent House Productions, the feature-length performance film promises to give fans a front-row experience of the tour’s emotional and cinematic finale.
The End of an Era is directed by Don Argott, co-directed by Sheena M. Joyce, and produced by Object & Animal. Both projects continue Swift’s long-running creative partnership with Disney+, which previously released ‘Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)' earlier this year.
Disney+ is available from £5.99 per month, offering a diverse library of new and classic titles from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, Hulu, and more. Subscribers can look forward to acclaimed series like Only Murders in the Building (Season 5), Alien: Earth, and the original documentary Sneaker Wars: Adidas v Puma, alongside blockbuster films and family favorites.
