Road to C2C 2026: Ty Myers Announces new sophomore album ‘Heavy On The Soul’

At just 18 years old, Ty Myers is already moving at a pace most artists never reach. The Texas-born singer-songwriter has announced the release of his sophomore album ‘Heavy On The Soul,' arriving March 27 via RECORDS Nashville/Columbia. The record follows his breakthrough, GOLD-certified 2025 debut ‘The Select' and signals a bold step forward in both sound and ambition. UK fans can see Ty in March at the C2C festival in London, Belfast and Glasgow.

‘Heavy On The Soul' was recorded at the legendary FAME Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, a setting steeped in musical history and inspiration for Myers, who counts Otis Redding among his formative influences. That sense of legacy runs throughout the album, which captures a more expansive and emotionally grounded version of his songwriting while retaining the raw honesty that first set him apart.

Displaying maturity well beyond his years, Myers wrote 11 of the album’s 17 tracks entirely on his own. The songs balance refined craftsmanship with unfiltered emotional weight, reflecting a young artist unafraid to dig deep. Longtime collaborator Brandon Hood returns as producer, once again helping shape Myers’ sound, while an elite group of session musicians bring additional depth and texture. Guitarist Tom Bukovac and steel guitarist Bruce Bouton, both revered figures in country and roots music, feature prominently across the record.

Fans will get another preview of ‘Heavy On The Soul' this Friday with the release of ‘Message to You,' a solo-written track that further showcases Myers’ introspective edge. The new single follows four previously released songs from the album, including ‘Leaving Carolina,' which blends cinematic country with Southern soul, ‘Through a Screen,' a stark reflection on modern dating culture, ‘Come On Over, Baby,' a blues-tinged late-night confession, and ‘Two Trains,' a fiery, guitar-driven collaboration with Marcus King that reimagines the Little Feat classic.

Despite releasing The Select less than a year ago, Myers has already established himself as a formidable live performer. His 73-date Select Tour sold out completely, fuelled by the runaway success of songs like the PLATINUM-certified ‘Ends of the Earth.' Night after night, fans packed venues, lining up early and singing every word back to him, underscoring the rapid and organic growth of his audience.

With ‘Heavy On The Soul,' Ty Myers isn’t just following up a successful debut — he’s setting the foundation for what looks to be a long and influential career, rooted in authenticity, musicianship, and an unmistakable emotional pull.
