Country superstar Miranda Lambert has released new track Two of a Crime, taken from the soundtrack to upcoming comedy Hot Pursuit.
Asked to contribute a track by the film's star Reese Witherspoon, Miranda set about recording Two of a Crime especially for the movie. She wrote the song with frequent collaborators Natalie Hemby and Nicolle Galyon.
Miranda explains, “Reese texted me and told me about the movie and wanted me to write something or sing or both. I got inspired. I love Reese and Sofia (Vergara). It was a bit of a “Thelma and Louise” theme and that’s totally up my alley. It is really so fun to be part of it. It was the first time I wrote a song specifically for a movie, so it was a different experience for me.”
The brief Miranda received from Reese asked that the song had a “Southern and a Latin flavor”.
Hot Pursuit is directed by Anne Fletcher and will arrive in cinemas in the UK this July.
Two of a Crime is available to buy on iTunes now.
