Last night the National Television Awards celebrated its 21st anniversary at London’s O2 Arena as the biggest names in TV picked up top honours.
Voted for entirely by the British public, the NTAs were hosted by Dermot O’Leary and saw Ant & Dec take their 15th Presenter award at the ceremony. The evening opened with a video of Bear Grylls taking Dermot through a number of jungle challenges before Gloria Gaynor performed her classic I Will Survive accompanied by Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists Revelation Avenue.
Winners across the night included Billy Connolly who was awarded the Special Recognition Award by Dustin Hoffman, Aidan Turner who picked up new award TV Moment of the YearĀ for his performance in Poldark, and Shayne Ward who picked up Newcomer.
Strictly Come Dancing beat The X Factor to win the Talent Show category and This Morning picked up Live Magazine.
The evening also featured a performance from X Factor runner-up Fleur East, who took to the stage for the first televised performance of her new single More & More.
