Adam Lambert has confirmed that he has signed a new major label deal with Warner Bros. Records in an interview with Billboard Magazine.
In the interview Lambert reveals that he was approached by Warner Bros. Records after the news of his split with former home RCA Records was announced. Lambert has been working on his as-yet-untitled third studio album with producers Max Martin and Shellback. The release is scheduled for the summer
Talking to Billboard about the new album Lambert revealed, “I can say the first single will be out in April. I think people are going to be really surprised. The album feels like a new era for me — emotionally, lyrically, sonically. It feels fresh, it feels new. It’s still me. It’s still stuff that fans know and love but it’s a new chapter 100 percent.”
He went on to explain what kind of sound the record has saying, “I wanted something more internal and more grounded. A little less with the theatrical and the camp and the presentation. I wanted to bring it in a bit more. Being on the road with a British rock band, and being in London a lot this year, rehearsing with them and doing TV gigs, I think that has affected my sound and where we are headed with it. [Europe] is very ahead of the curve, or right on, and I was definitely influenced by that. Vocally, it’s very intimate compared to what I’ve done in the past. There is a little bit of a daring, deeper internal conflict and poetry about it.”
Lambert is currently on touring with Queen, garnering critical acclaim for his performance and his vocal ability.
