Grand Ole Opry celebrates landmark night at Carnegie Hall, New York with all-star lineup

The Grand Ole Opry brought its signature blend of tradition and star power to Carnegie Hall last Friday night, delivering a special one-night-only show as part of the United in Sound: America at 250 festival. The event featured performances from Opry members Kelsea Ballerini, Scotty McCreery, Rhonda Vincent and Henry Cho, alongside special guests Wyatt Flores and The War and Treaty.

The evening opened with a nod to country music history, as Vincent and McCreery reimagined ‘Blue Moon of Kentucky' in the distinct styles of Bill Monroe and Elvis Presley. The show closed with a full-cast performance of ‘Will The Circle Be Unbroken,' a song long associated with the Opry’s legacy and communal spirit.

The concert marked the Opry’s fourth headlining appearance at Carnegie Hall, continuing a relationship that dates back to 1947, when stars like Roy Acuff and Minnie Pearl helped introduce the institution to a New York audience. Over the decades, the venue has hosted several milestone Opry shows, including a 1961 benefit headlined by Patsy Cline and a major anniversary concert in 2005 featuring artists such as Vince Gill and Alison Krauss.

The Carnegie Hall performance forms part of the Opry’s ongoing 100th anniversary celebrations, which continue throughout 2026 alongside the United States’ 250th birthday. A series of themed shows is planned in the coming months, including an America 250 Bluegrass Celebration in April, a Bakersfield-inspired night in May, and a landmark Fourth of July broadcast marking the Opry’s 5,244th Saturday night show.

With its latest return to Carnegie Hall, the Grand Ole Opry once again demonstrated its ability to bridge generations—honouring its deep roots while showcasing the artists shaping country music today.
