Naomi Johnson returns with emotional new song ‘Bricks Make Houses’

Singer-songwriter Naomi Johnson is stepping back into the country music scene with her latest release, ‘Bricks Make Houses,' a deeply personal anthem that explores the struggles of growing up with adversity and the strength found in connection. Now available on all streaming platforms, the song highlights Johnson’s raw storytelling and stirring melodies, marking a powerful return to music.

Co-written by Johnson alongside Sam Bergeson, Kat Higgins, and Lydia Vaughan, ‘Bricks Make Houses' reflects on her unconventional childhood, growing up with 11 siblings, her parents, and a dog in a converted school bus—an experience captured in the song’s cover art. Produced by Johnson, Josh Kelley, and Dustin Christensen, the track balances hardship with resilience, painting a vivid picture of love and perseverance.

Johnson’s decision to return to music was cemented after a life-changing experience during childbirth. “I had a near-death experience, and it made me wonder, if I didn't survive, would the music I left behind allow my daughter to get to know me?” she shares. “The music I had put out before didn’t really tell my story. If my daughter ever listens to this upcoming project from start to finish, she'll truly know me—not just as an artist, but as a woman, a mother, a wife, and a friend.”

A founding member of the country trio Runaway June, Johnson previously toured with Carrie Underwood on the Cry Pretty Tour 360 in 2019. Now, as a solo artist, she is embracing a new chapter, using her music to share her life’s journey with honesty and heart.
