Ian Munsick is paying tribute to the land that shaped him with the release of his latest song, ‘God Bless The West,' featuring Flatland Cavalry’s Cleto Cordero. Available now, the track serves as a heartfelt ode to the rugged beauty of the West and a plea to preserve its untamed spirit. Written by Munsick, Jeremy Spillman, and Casey Beathard, and co-produced by Munsick, Spillman, and Jared Conrad, the song blends vivid storytelling with Munsick’s signature Western-inspired sound.
“We all have that person and place we pray will always be there, untouched by the hands of time. That’s what the West is for me,” Munsick shared. “Even though the people and the land are ever changing in this modern age, I hold onto the hope that the West will hold onto her rugged charm that draws us in.” Cordero, who jumped at the chance to collaborate, recalled hearing the song for the first time, saying, “I immediately loved it and was grateful for the opportunity. We ended up recording it the very next morning.”
‘God Bless The West' is the latest preview of Munsick’s upcoming third studio album, ‘Eagle Feather,' set for release on April 18 via Warner Music Nashville. Expanding on the themes introduced in his 2023 album ‘White Buffalo,' Munsick explores the culture, landscapes, and stories of the American West with a deeply personal perspective. The album draws inspiration from the Native American symbol of the eagle feather, which represents honour, strength, and wisdom, mirroring Munsick’s journey of growth.
In support of ‘Eagle Feather,' Munsick is currently on his Horses Are Faster Tour, featuring a rotating lineup of special guests including Colby Acuff, Avery Anna, Chayce Beckham, Bayker Blankenship, Kashus Culpepper, Hudson Westbrook, and Jake Worthington. He also spent much of 2024 opening for Lainey Wilson on her Country’s Cool Again Tour and supporting Morgan Wallen on his record-setting One Night At A Time Tour.
