Caylee Hammack is kicking off her new era of music with new song ‘The Hill', released via Capital Records Nashville.
The singer-songwriter wrote the track with fellow artist Tenille Townes and Logan Wall, with John Osborne of Brothers Osborne on production duties. The end result fuses sonic influences from the classic foothill bluegrass of the Appalachian mountains and the celtic echoes from her time in the Scottish Highlands. Listen to the track below:
“‘The Hill’ is written from a place of a sad surrender, like a white flag being waved by a broken arm. Its the battle that feels like the end of the war of love with this person, but you're not quite ready for it to all end,” said Hammack. “So you finally just surrender, not caring whether you were right or they were right, you just don't want to lose the person on The Hill you were fighting on.”
The music video for ‘The Hill' showcases a love that is facing an internal tug of war. It is directed by David O'Donahue and was filmed in Nunelly, Tennessee. You can watch the video above.
Hammack released her debut album ‘If It Wasn't For You‘ in 2020, which featured the singles ‘Family Tree' and ‘Just Friends'. In 2023 she released the tracks ‘All or Nothing' and ‘History of Repeating'.
