Chanel West Coast makes Country debut with sassy new song ‘Lil’ Bit Country’

Chanel West Coast is stepping into a new chapter of her music career with the release of ‘Lil' Bit Country,' her official debut in the country genre. The genre-bending single, co-written with ill Nickey and produced by Will Saulsky, blends fiddle-driven hooks with playful, high-energy vibes fit for summer parties, boat days, and girls' nights out.

The track introduces a bold, self-assured sound from the multi-media entertainer, long known for her television work on MTV's Fantasy Factory, Ridiculousness, and more recently The West Coast Hustle on Amazon Prime. But music, Chanel says, has always been at the heart of her journey.

“Music has always been a huge part of my life, it's in my DNA,” she shared. “I started writing poetry at seven, songs at 14, and spent my childhood in choir, orchestra, drama, hip-hop dance, and cheerleading. I was homeschooled at 16 so I could focus on music full-time. Now, I'm so excited for people to hear me sing for the first time.”

Her love for country music is rooted in childhood memories of summers spent in rural Ohio with her mother’s family, including trips to the Grand Ole Opry. Now a mother herself, Chanel says this new musical direction brings her full circle, allowing her to create new country memories for the next generation.

Though best known for her television career, Chanel has also spent years building her music portfolio. The daughter of a DJ and artist, she began rapping as a teenager and recorded her first track in the legendary vocal booth where Marvin Gaye recorded ‘Let’s Get It On.' She’s toured across the country, opened for major acts like Lil Wayne and Cardi B, and collaborated with artists including Snoop Dogg, French Montana, and Ty Dolla $ign.

Over the years, Chanel has evolved as both a performer and songwriter, developing her vocal abilities and melodic writing. Her new sound is a reflection of personal growth and creative rediscovery—sparked, in part, by motherhood and a desire to reconnect with her musical roots.

The accompanying music video for ‘Lil' Bit Country,' directed by Mike Ritter, was shot in Savannah, Georgia with Chanel’s friends and captures a playful, backyard-party vibe. Featuring carefree dancing, day drinking, and Southern charm, the video brings the song’s fun-loving spirit to life.

“The video came together so fast—I literally threw on an outfit I had in my suitcase—but we had such a blast shooting it,” Chanel said. “Mike did such a great job capturing the fun, summertime vibe of the song. I love how it turned out.”

‘Lil' Bit Country' is available now on all streaming platforms. Watch the official video and stay tuned for more from Chanel West Coast as she continues to explore her country roots.
