Jaxson Free steps into the artist spotlight with new single ‘Get Go’

Chart-topping songwriter Jaxson Free is stepping back into the artist spotlight with his new single ‘Get Go,' out now. Blending a galloping beat with soothing acoustic guitar and southern-tinged vocals, the North Carolina native captures the bittersweet truth of a relationship that was never meant to last. His soulful delivery, both gravelly and silky, gives the track an emotional punch that resonates long after the final note.

Produced by Chris LaCorte and written alongside Jacob Hackworth, Ned Cameron, Adrien Nunez, Chase McDaniel and LaCorte, ‘Get Go' marks Free’s first single with Goat Island. The release follows a remarkable stretch in Nashville where Free has become one of the city’s most in-demand writers, penning hits for Morgan Wallen, Jelly Roll, Kane Brown, Lana Del Rey, Quavo, Lil Wayne, and more. His songwriting credits already include three country chart-toppers: Kane and Katelyn Brown’s ‘Thank God,' Kane Brown’s ‘I Can Feel It,' and Thomas Rhett’s recent multiweek No. 1 ‘After All The Bars Are Closed.'

Reflecting on the inspiration for the new song, Free shared, “My buddy Chase threw out the line ‘she was gone from the get go,’ and I immediately thought back to a time I fell for this girl who always seemed like she had her sights somewhere else but I couldn’t help myself. When you fall for a candle in the wind, you’re left with nothing but ashes in the end.”

To accompany the single, Free also dropped a lyric video that visually captures the theme of love burning out too quickly. He is currently at work on more new music and preparing to announce upcoming tour plans.
