Lainey Wilson has released her latest single, ‘Somewhere Over Laredo,' via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. Written by Wilson alongside Trannie Anderson, Dallas Wilson, and Andy Albert, the song pays subtle homage to the timeless classic ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow' while delivering Wilson’s signature brand of heartfelt country storytelling. The track reflects on past love and captures the spirit of small-town life, blending emotional depth with Wilson’s authentic sound.
Wilson is set to perform ‘Somewhere Over Laredo' live for the first time at the 2025 American Music Awards on Monday, May 26, where she’s nominated for Favourite Female Country Artist.
The release comes amid a monumental year for the country star, who recently took home four trophies at the 60th ACM Awards, including Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year for ‘Whirlwind.' She also debuted the empowering track ‘Trailblazer' at the event alongside Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert.
Currently on her nearly sold-out Whirlwind World Tour, Wilson is performing in major venues across North America following a fully sold-out run in Europe. Her latest album ‘Whirlwind,' produced by Jay Joyce, earned her the highest chart debut of her career, landing in the top 10 of the Billboard 200.
