American Idol finalist Slater Nally signs management deal & releases heartfelt new song ‘Traces of You’

Slater Nalley, the 18-year-old singer-songwriter who captured hearts on Season 23 of American Idol, has officially signed an artist management deal with Play It Again Music. Nalley impressed judges and fans alike with his heartfelt original, ‘Traces Of You,' written for his high school teacher after the tragic loss of her son. The performance not only earned him a spot in the Top 5 but also a standing ovation and tears from Carrie Underwood. “Traces Of You” is out now and available on streaming platforms.

In joining Play It Again Music, Nalley teams up with a powerhouse roster led by multi-platinum songwriter and founder Dallas Davidson. “Slater Nalley is special,” Davidson said, praising the young artist’s talent, character, and maturity. Nalley shared his excitement as well, stating, “The past few months of American Idol have been nothing short of a blessing, and I feel more inspired than ever to create music that speaks to my fans.”

Long before his television debut, Nalley was crafting songs at home, teaching himself guitar and piano, and sharing covers and originals on TikTok. His music, inspired by the likes of Jason Isbell, Tyler Childers, and John Prine, carries a blend of emotional depth and gritty country soul that sets him apart. With a powerful story, strong management, and a growing fanbase, Nalley is ready to bring more of his authentic voice to the country music world.
