Rising country artist Karley Scott Collins is set to release her highly anticipated debut album, ‘Flight Risk,' on September 26. The album marks a major milestone for the Florida native, who’s been making waves with her soulful vocals, introspective lyrics, and fearless storytelling.
Years in the making, ‘Flight Risk' showcases Collins’ growth as both an artist and a person. Drawing from her own experiences with heartbreak, self-discovery, and emotional resilience, the album blends themes of acceptance, desire, and the clarity that comes with maturity. “There was a time where I was running just to feel safe,” Collins says. “But now, if I’m running, it’s only from things that I know aren’t meant for me. I know who I am and what I want.”
Collins’ hands-on approach to the album is evident in every note. She co-produced the project with Grammy-winner Nathan Chapman and played a wide range of instruments, including banjo, violin, and bass. She also learned engineering techniques to ensure the sound reflected her vision, resulting in a body of work that is both personal and unfiltered.
Ahead of the album’s release, Collins will drop a brand-new single, ‘Cowboy Sh!t,' on Friday. Co-written with Sam Backoff and KK Johnson, the song promises a bold, high-energy addition to her growing discography.
This summer, Collins will join Keith Urban on the High and Alive Tour, opening dates across the U.S. and Canada. She’s also slated to perform at CMA Fest and Watershed Festival. With critical recognition from The Nashville Briefing as an Artist to Watch and a spot in CMT’s Next Women of Country, Collins is poised for a breakout year.
‘Flight Risk' includes 16 tracks, all co-written by Collins, with titles such as ‘Easy to Leave,' ‘Music to Cry To,' ‘Heavy Metal' and the emotional closer ‘Madman.'
