Jake Worthington releases humorous new single ‘It Ain’t The Whiskey’ after massive fan demand

Big Loud Texas artist and country traditionalist Jake Worthington has released his highly anticipated new single, ‘It Ain't The Whiskey,' today. The pure country toe-tapper, which humorously recounts a late-night run-in with the law, has already racked up over 25 million pre-release listens across viral clips teased by Worthington.

“I tend to write songs from the research department,” Worthington said. “First year I was married me and my wife found ourselves in the back of a cop car. That's what this one's about.”

Co-written with Will Banister, Jeff Hyde, and Roger Springer, ‘It Ain't The Whiskey' showcases Worthington’s signature “pure Texas drawl” and “country-as-cornbread charm” as he playfully defends himself with the line, “It ain't the whiskey it's the woman by my side.”

Lyrics from the song paint the picture of the fateful night:

Last night we's headed home 'bout a quarter 'til ten
I guess I swerved just a little where the road didn't bend
I didn't see the law but the law saw me
I heard “I represent the state of Tennessee”

Following recent high-profile collaborations with Marty Stuart on ‘I'm The One' and Miranda Lambert on ‘Hello Shitty Day,' Worthington continues to prove his status as a “neo-traditional country prodigy.”

Worthington will be on the road throughout the year, supporting Zach Top this spring and joining Jon Pardi’s Honkytonk Hollywood Tour in the fall, along with festival and headline dates over the summer. Full tour information is available at jakeworthington.com.
