Madeline Edwards launches next phase of her career with new song ‘Sunshine in the Rain’

Madeline Edwards’ launched the next phase of her career in some style last Friday with the release of ‘Sunshine in the Rain,' co-written with Foy Vance. The piano-driven ballad showcases her ability to blend soulful melodies with poignant storytelling. The song delves into themes of self-empowerment, freedom, and resilience, reflecting Edwards’ personal journey through grief and liberation.

Edwards debuted ‘Sunshine in the Rain' at the Grand Ole Opry earlier in the month, marking a significant milestone in her career.  The performance was met with enthusiasm, highlighting her vocal prowess and emotive delivery.

The song’s lyrics, as shared by Edwards on social media, encapsulate the duality of joy and pain: “Maybe I’m like sunshine in the rain. Maybe I can feel the joy because I’ve felt the pain.”  This line resonates deeply, offering listeners a sense of hope and understanding. Taking to ‘X' today Edwards said “Releasing a 5:27 song with no hook is a 15 second world is the kind of gentle rebellion you acquire when you remember you're the artist.”

Overall, ‘Sunshine in the Rain' is a testament to Madeline Edwards’ evolving artistry, blending heartfelt lyrics with soulful melodies to create a track that is both introspective and uplifting. We were huge fans of her ‘Crashlanded' album and you can read a review of that right here if you missed it the first time round. With new music being released consistently up until the release of her next album and dates with The War and Treaty and an Outlaw Tour with Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan and Sheryl Crow to come later in 2025 it looks like it's going to be a great year for this talented artist as she launches her career independently.
