Rising British Country/Americana artist Katy Hurt has released her latest single ‘Seasons,' a heartfelt collaboration with Joey Landreth of the Juno Award-winning group The Bros. Landreth. Produced by Murray Pulver and recorded at Winnipeg’s Stereobus Studios, the track showcases the warmth and authenticity that have become trademarks of Hurt's music.
Hurt’s journey to Winnipeg began in 2017 after discovering ‘Let It Lie,' the transformative album by The Bros. Landreth. The record inspired her to visit the Canadian city, which has since become a second musical home for the British artist.
Co-written with Gab Zsapka and supported by Manitoba Film and Music, ‘Seasons' explores the cycles of human behaviour and the frustration of falling into familiar patterns. The emotional resonance of the song is amplified by the seamless blend of Hurt and Landreth’s vocals. Reflecting on the recording process, Hurt shared, “This song ended up being one of my favourite studio days. We spent hours messing around with a rain stick trying to capture the perfect ‘sad’ rain.”
The track highlights Hurt’s continued evolution as an artist and her ability to infuse every note with genuine emotion. Joey Landreth’s contribution adds a layer of soulful depth, making ‘Seasons' a standout moment in her burgeoning career.
