Danny Mac returning to ‘Hollyoaks’ as Dodger Savage

Danny Mac is returning to ‘Hollyoaks' as Marc ‘Dodger' Savage after a decade away from the soap it has been confirmed.

Dodger had a hero ending back in January 2015 when he went on the run after taking the blame for killing his evil brother Will in order to protect daughter Nico. Once labelled Soap's Unluckiest Man, how will Mark (Dodger) Savage fair this time round…

The Blake family is rooted in gothic tales with twists and turns galore, and with the arrival of Jez’s long-lost son, and the return of grandmother Martha, played by Sherrie Hewson, the family of secrets intensifies. In true Blake style, mysterious Mark will be arriving with an agenda, but what is he up to…

Talking about reprising his iconic ‘Hollyoaks' role, Mac said, “After a decade away, I’m thrilled to be returning and reuniting with my incredible co-stars, old friends and a character very close to my heart. Dodger escaped, leaving a great deal behind. I’ve always wondered whether he could return and who he might have become in the 10 years since he ran away. Now that he’s back, there’s a lot to uncover, but one way or another, we will finally find out.”

Mac is an award-winning actor whose work has spanned both stage and screen for almost three decades. His recent screen work includes: ‘Grace' (ITV), ‘Trollied' (Sky), ‘Midsomer Murders' (ITV), and upcoming feature film ‘Flight 298', based on a concept by the Duffer Brothers (Stranger Things).

Mac’s extensive theatre work has also earned him a number of accolades including ‘Best Actor’ for his portrayal of Joe Gillis in the multi-award-winning revival of ‘Sunset Boulevard'. He originated the role of Edward Lewis in the West End production of ‘Pretty Woman’ and was most recently seen portraying Abraham Lincoln’s infamous assassin John Wilkes Booth in Stephen Sondheim and Jim Weidman's musical thriller Assassins at the Chichester Festival Theatre.

Further theatre credits include: The Olivier Award nominated revival of ‘On The Town' (Regents Park Open Air Theatre), ‘The Mousetrap', ‘White Christmas', ‘Amélie' and ‘Wicked'.
