Tiera Kennedy unveils new single “Can’t Help My Country”

Tiera Kennedy has released her new single “Can't Help My Country” across digital and streaming platforms today.

The track is penned by Kennedy with Cameron Bedell and Heather Morgan. It was inspired by Kennedy's upbringing and experiences growing up in the South. Take a listen to the song below:

“I’ve always had hints of other genres in my music and at times felt apprehensive about that because I felt this pressure to not color too much out of the country music lines,” shares Kennedy. “Writing sessions are basically a therapy session especially when you’re writing with friends and this song was definitely that for me. I just started talking about all my different experiences growing up in Alabama and we came out with this very honest song that perfectly explains love for country music.”

“Can't Help My Country” is featured on Kennedy’s forthcoming debut full-length album ‘Rooted', which is set for release on 18th October 2024. To celebrate the launch Kennedy will bring the record to life with a string of release shows in Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Nashville and New York.

Kennedy is nominated for two People's Choice Country Awards – The Collaboration Song of the Year and The Cover Song of the Year, both for her Beyoncé collaboration “BLACKBIIRD.” The show airs on NBC and Peacock on 26th September 2024.

Earlier this summer Kennedy released ‘Cry', which samples Justin Timberlake's ‘Cry Me A River'. She performed the track on ‘GMA3' and it's also being used in a series of McDonald's adverts.
