The MTV VMAs took place last night and all eyes were on Video Vanguard Award winner Katy Perry.
Perry, who has been having a rough time in the run-up to the release of her new album ‘143' with backlash from fans over her decision to work with controversial producer Dr. Luke and two single flops, took to the stage to perform a medley of her biggest hits including ‘Dark Horse', ‘ET', ‘I Kissed a Girl' and ‘Firework'. The performance was big on stage spectacle and a reminder for fans of why Perry is one of the biggest pop stars of her generation.
Performers throughout the night included Sabrina Carpenter, Lenny Kravitz, Eminem and Shawn Mendes, to name a few. Taylor Swift picked up 7 wins, tying her for most wins overall at the VMAs, and Eminem is now the most-award male solo artist with a total of 14 wins.
