The wait is almost over as ‘Strictly Come Dancing' 2024 will launch very, very soon!
The BBC has confirmed that the launch show for the new series will air at 7.20pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday 14th September 2024. During the launch show viewers will find out who the celebrities will be paired with for this year's series.
Earlier today the launch trailer was released for the new series. It features the pro dancers partying on a bus to a number of classic pop tracks. You can watch the full trailer above.
‘Strictly Come Dancing' has been under a lot of scrutiny recently due to a series of scandals. Giovanni Pernice quit the series after former celeb partner Amanda Abbington complained about his conduct towards her. Pernice has denied any wrongdoing.
A second professional dancer, Graziano Di Prima, was let go by the show after his former celeb partner Zara McDermott claimed that he kicked her during training. Prima admitted to the kick but is said to be considering taking action against the BBC for unfair dismissal.
Whether or not any of the recent scandals will impact on the show remains to be seen but much has been made of the lack of female celebrities taking part this year (only six are in the line-up of fifteen celebs). It has also been reported that there will be no same-sex couples on this year's series.
In better news, pro dancer Aljaz Skorjanec will be back in the pro lineup for the new series, marking a welcome return for the popular pro.
