Girls Aloud kicked off their ‘The Girls Aloud Show‘ tour last night in Dublin at the 3Arena.
The girl group is back together for the first time in 11 years, hitting the road with a greatest hits tour that pays tribute to late band member Sarah Harding who lost her battle with cancer in 2021. Throughout the show, the remaining members – Cheryl, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh – ensured that Sarah was front and centre. They used video footage of Harding throughout, as well as her vocals, and for “I'll Stand By You” they sang backup to a lead vocal from her.
The night proved to be an emotional one for both the band and the fans. During an encore of ‘The Promise', Cheryl was seen comforting Nadine after Harding's vocals were played during a video screen moment that celebrated her.
The set list comprised of all the songs fans wanted to hear including the hits ‘Sound of the Underground', ‘Love Machine', ‘Biology' and ‘Call the Shots'. Girls Aloud are on the road now until the end of June as they work their way around the UK.
