Home Free and Don McLean collaborate on rendition of ‘Vincent’

Country’s exceptional all-vocal band, Home Free, joins forces with music legend Don McLean for a captivating new interpretation of the timeless Don McLean classic, ‘Vincent.’

In a remarkable tribute to artistic struggle and misunderstood genius, Home Free adds their signature harmony blend to the 1971 folk-rock favourite, originally penned by the Grammy-winning icon and esteemed member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Their rendition infuses a rich sonic texture, amplifying the song’s emotional depth and inspiration.

Accompanying the release is an official music video featuring McLean himself, paying homage to the renowned impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh and his iconic works, such as ‘The Starry Night.’

Reflecting on the collaboration, Tim Foust of Home Free expresses profound gratitude, describing ‘Vincent’ as possibly the best-written song of all time. Sharing the microphone with Don McLean on his masterpiece is deemed an unbelievable honour, especially considering it marks their second collaboration with the music legend.

Fans can stream or download Home Free’s rendition of ‘Vincent’ featuring Don McLean, and watch the official video to experience the mesmerising synergy between the artists.

In a reciprocal gesture of admiration, Home Free is featured on the title track of McLean’s forthcoming album, ‘American Boys – a harmonious tribute to the pioneers of rock ‘n’ roll who inspired McLean’s illustrious career. The album is set for release on May 17, coinciding with McLean’s 50th Anniversary Starry Starry Night Tour, which kicked off earlier this month. You can see Don Mclean at this year’s Long Road festival in August. Tickets here.
