Gasoline & Matches follow their C2C shows with new track ‘Could’ve Been a Love Song’

Following a standout performance at the Country to Country (C2C) Festival in London, Gasoline & Matches emerges as one of the most buzzed-about UK country bands on the scene. Riding the wave of success, the band is set to release their latest single, ‘Could’ve Been a Love Song,’ marking the perfect follow-up to their previous hits ‘Afraid to Fall’ and ‘Patient Wolves’ from their upcoming debut album.

Produced by Gavin Monaghan (known for his work with Robert Plant, Editors, and Scott Matthews) and featuring Sarah Jory on Pedal Steel, ‘Could’ve Been a Love Song’ exemplifies Gasoline & Matches’ dynamic and original British Country Rock sound.

Lead vocalist Sally co-wrote the song with the acclaimed Jenn Bostic during a trip to Nashville. Inspired by the 2017 Solar eclipse, the lyrics delve into the theme of feeling distant from someone despite once being intimately close. Sally reflects, “This song is about the anti-climax of a relationship that could’ve been. They say it’s better to have loved and lost, but sometimes you don’t even quite feel love yet, just the build-up without the fall. That’s still better than feeling nothing though, right? I like to ride in the front seat of the rollercoaster to feel all the highs and lows first, you must be brave in love.”

With their latest single, Gasoline & Matches continues to captivate audiences with their heartfelt lyrics and infectious melodies. Fans can anticipate ‘Could’ve Been a Love Song’ to be another shining example of the band’s musical prowess and storytelling abilities.
