Paul Weller to release new album ’66’ in May

Paul Weller will release ’66’, his 17th solo album, on 24th May 2024 through Polydor Records it has been announced.

The artwork for the album sees Weller teaming up with Sir Peter Blake again, marking the first time the pair has collaborated since Weller’s 1995 album ‘Stanley Road’. ’66’ will arrive the day before Weller turns 66.

Described as ‘reflective and inward thinking’, the album aims to bring a burst of positivity into the lives of Weller’s fans. Featuring 12 songs, ’66’ was worked up in Wellerā€™s Black Barn studio over the course of three years with a host of guest musicians. There are lyrical contributions from an esteemed roll-call including Suggs, Noel Gallagher and Bobby Gillespie as well as co-writes with Erland Cooper and duo White Label.

The album features string arrangements from Hannah Peel and two collaborations with French producer and recording artist Christophe Vaillant, while acclaimed Brooklyn trio Say She She add vocals to ‘In Full Flight’. Peppered throughout the album are turns from an array of old friends including Dr Robert, Richard Hawley, Steve Brooks and Max Beesley.

The first taster from ’66’ is ‘Soul Wondering’, which is available to listen to via streaming and digital platforms now. First single, ‘Rise Up Singing’, will be the album’s lead single and arrives on 5th April 2024.
