Mariah Carey confirms new Vegas residency

Fresh from her appearance on the Grammys earlier this week, Mariah Carey has announced that she will be returning to Las Vegas for a new residency.

‘The Celebration of Mimi’ will take place from 12th to 27th April 2024 at Dolby Live at Park MGM. This will mark the third residency for Carey who previously performed ‘#1 to Infinity’ from 2015 to 2017 and ‘The Butterfly Returns‘ from 2018 to 2020.

Fans will notice that the title of the new shows is similar to her 2005 album ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’. The 8 shows are a celebration of that iconic record’s 19th anniversary and they are backed by Live Nation and MGM Resorts. At the time of writing it’s unclear if the set-list will focus on tracks from ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’ or if the show will incorporate Carey’s wider catalogue of hits.

Earlier this week Carey was honoured with the Global Impact Award from the Recording Academyā€™s Black Music Collective, and she presented Miley Cyrus with her award for ‘Best Pop Solo Performance’ at the Grammys. Carey has won 5 Grammys across her career to date, with her last wins in 2006.

In 2023 Mariah Carey hit the road for her ‘Merry Christmas One and All!‘ tour, which was well-received by critics and fans alike. With speculation that new music is on the way this year, it looks like fans will have a lot to look forward to over the course of 2024. Carey last released an album in 2018 with ‘Caution’, which contained the singles ‘GTFO’ and ‘With You’.

Tickets for the new residency are on sale from 10am PST on Saturday 10th February 2024 from https://www.ticketmaster.com/MariahVegas.
