Songs & collaborators revealed for new Glen Campbell duets album

Big Machine Records and Surfdog Records are thrilled to unveil the upcoming release of ‘Glen Campbell Duets – Ghost on the Canvas Sessions,” a groundbreaking project that breathes new life into Glen Campbell’s iconic 2011 farewell album. Pre-orders available at the link here.

Set to launch on April 19, this one-of-a-kind album recreates Campbell’s original masterpiece as duets, seamlessly blending his timeless vocals with a stellar lineup of music legends, including Brian Wilson, Carole King, Dolly Parton, Elton John, Hope Sandoval, Linda Perry, Sting, Brian Setzer, and more. The result is a captivating and unique body of work that pays homage to the Rhinestone Cowboy’s final musical journey.

The release of two tracks accompanies today’s announcement: ‘Hold On Hope (with Eric Church)’ and ‘Nothing But The Whole Wide World (with Eric Clapton).’

As the only known album crafted during its creator’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease, this “museum-quality masterpiece” (USA TODAY) has earned its place on Rolling Stone’s prestigious list of “The 100 Greatest Country Albums of All Time.” Filled with honest reflections on hope, mortality, gratitude, and acceptance of fate, “GLEN CAMPBELL DUETS – Ghost on the Canvas Sessions” is a labor of love that showcases Glen’s beautiful perspective on the conclusion of his life.

Legends from diverse genres, including Rock, Punk, Pop, Blues, and Country, united to collaborate on this tribute. The global ensemble, working alongside the original producer and executive producer of Ghost on the Canvas, aimed to create a striking and thought-provoking homage to the legendary Glen Campbell.

Renowned guitarist and singer Eric Clapton expressed his admiration for Glen Campbell, sharing, “I’ve always admired Glen Campbell’s guitar playing and loved his singing.” He further revealed his emotional connection to the project, stating, “When I was asked to sing and play with Glen on the song Jakob Dylan wrote, it all just felt right, and I am happy to be part of it.”

Eric Church added, “It was really special to me to be able to be part of this project. Glen was so important to not just Country music, but all of music. What a stallion!”

Glen Campbell, a star who outsold The Beatles in 1968, made an indelible mark on the music industry with 64 albums, numerous awards, and achievements, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. His influence extended beyond music, hosting television specials and earning Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for his role in the iconic film, True Grit.

A multitude of artists from various genres, such as Dave Stewart, Billy Corgan, Chris Issak, Wendy Melvoin, Rick Neilsen, and many more, contributed their talents to this project.

Despite his Alzheimer’s diagnosis in 2011, Glen Campbell continued to inspire through the release of ‘Ghost On The Canvas’ and the subsequent Goodbye Tour. His farewell journey was documented in the inspiring film “Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me,” released before his passing in 2017.
