Maya Lane ignites her 2024 with catchy, melodic new song ‘Bump into Me’

Maya Lane concluded 2023 on a high note after completing her inaugural tour as a guest with Far From Saints, a new band featuring Kelly Jones of Stereophonics. Building on the positive momentum from her tour experience, Maya Lane is diving headfirst into 2024 with the release of her latest single, ‘Bump Into Me.’

The track showcases Lane’s evolution as an artist, blending brighter pop elements and raw live band sonic textures into the fabric of her bohemian singer-songwriter sound. The song, which delves into the inner conflicts between self-confidence and self-doubt, places Lane’s stylish and chic vocal tone at the forefront, embellished with intricate vocal harmonies.

Maya Lane shares her inspiration for ‘Bump Into Me,’ stating, “The song was written in the first session I ever had with Rich Cooper and Jonny Latimer. I walked in with the first line, ‘me and my ego are falling out,’ and the concept of wanting to escape from oneself. I’m a notorious over-thinker and can often find myself trapped in my thoughts. ‘Bump Into Me’ explores the wild possibilities you dream about when you want to break free from life, yet also the realization that no matter where you go, you will always take yourself with you.”

Co-written with Rich Cooper (Rina Sawayama, Birdy) and produced by Cooper, along with Jonny Lattimer (Ellie Goulding, Becky Hill) — the same team behind last summer’s single ’24F’ — ‘Bump Into Me’ adds to Maya Lane’s impressive list of collaborations with top-tier artists. Her roster already includes names like Rob Milton (Holly Humberstone, The 1975), Jonathan Quarmby (Lewis Capaldi, James Arthur, Sam Ryder), Benjamin Francis Leftwich (Holly Humberstone), Hayley Gene Penner (Lennon Stella, The Chicks), Katie Rae (The Shires), and Wayne Hector (Tate McRae, Birdy).

Lane also shares insights into the creative process behind the song’s music video, saying, “When writing ‘Bump Into Me,’ I instantly had a clear vision for the music video. I wanted to capture the carefree, fun, summer vibe of the song. Melody Berkery and I spent hours searching for a farmer who was willing to let me run around and drive a campervan through their field! We ended up getting lucky with the weather (UK summer sun is never very reliable), and the video turned out even better than I imagined.”
