Singer-songwriter Georgia Webster is breaking musical boundaries with the release of her latest single, ‘Attention.’The genre-blending artist takes inspiration from an Olivia Rodrigo-esque mindset, cranking the intensity up to eleven as she explores the extremes she’d go to capture someone’s attention post-breakup.
In the lyrics, Webster paints a vivid picture of hypothetical and delusional scenarios, questioning whether crashing her car, breaking her arm, or even getting bitten by a shark would finally make her ex take notice. The song, penned by Emily Weisband, Laura Veltz, and Sam Ellis, marks the first time Webster has released a track she didn’t co-write herself.
“‘Attention’ is the first song I’ve ever released that I didn’t write on. I’ve always told myself that I’d never put something out I didn’t write, mainly because songwriting is such a core part of my identity as an artist. But when Emily Weisband, who I’ve been a fan of since high school, played the song for me after I went through a breakup a few months ago, I was literally speechless. It’s rare that a song leaves me with full body chills, and that’s exactly what ‘Attention’ did to me, so of course I had to cut it. I hope people connect with this song as much as I do,” says Webster.
This new musical chapter for Webster involves collaboration with producer King Henry (known for his work with Sasha Sloan, Justin Bieber, Major Lazer, and Beyonce), resulting in some of the most exciting and authentic music she’s crafted to date.
After a bustling year on Kelsea Ballerini’s HEARTFIRST TOUR, Webster is set to embark on a more intimate acoustic experience with the TOWN TALKS TOUR, kicking off in Nashville, TN at The Basement on January 24th.
