Sheryl Crow is continuing to tease fans ahead of the release of her new album ‘Evolution’ on 29th March 2024.
Following the release of first single ‘Alarm Clock’, Crow has unveiled the atmospheric title track ‘Evolution’. The song is available to download and stream now, and it explores Crow’s uneasiness about artificial intelligence and its growing presence in the world.
āStephen Hawking worried that A.I. would replace humans. As a mom, I want to leave a better world for my children, a healthier planet – is A.I. going to be a benevolent partner in these goals or not? Itās unsettling, and this song deals with those anxieties,āĀ says Crow. āI wrote the song with just me on guitar and vocals, sent it to Mike Elizondo and said, this is bigger than me, can you take a crack at it?āĀ
Elizondo’s (Dr. Dre, Maroon 5, Keith Urban, Gary Clark Jr) production on the track brings Crow into new sonic territory, delivering blockbuster cinematics and a monolithic guitar solo by Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello.Ā
āTo me, Tomās playing comes from some other planet,ā says Crow. āItās a cool bit of kismet that we were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in the same year, and his solo on āEvolutionā just ejects you into space.ā

- Do It Again
