Corey Kent to release stripped back project ’23’ ahead of his UK tour with Ashley McBryde

Texas-based troubadour Corey Kent is set to cap off a monumental year with the upcoming release of his latest project, ’23. Scheduled for release on December 28th, this stripped-back, one-take endeavor is a personal offering to his devoted fans. Kent deliberately created this collection without a producer or a band, opting for a raw, unfiltered performance in a Texas studio near his home. With nothing to hide behind, he aims to present an authentic musical experience, imperfections and all. ’23 comprises nine songs as a heartfelt thank-you to the fans who supported him from the beginning.

As part of the project’s announcement, Kent has unveiled ‘Southeast Oklahoma Pines,’ a poignant tribute to his hometown of Broken Bow, Oklahoma. The song weaves tales of generations and expresses the indescribable comfort of returning home.

Kent reflects on the unshakeable bond with his roots, emphasizing that, even in challenging times, the embrace of the Oklahoma pines can uplift his spirits. The fan-centric project also includes a deeply personal track dedicated to Kent’s wife, titled “You Know.”

’23 Tracklist:

  1. Southeast Oklahoma Pines
  2. Love Someone Else
