Corey Kent fast-tracks new song ‘Empty Words’ after viral fan demand

Multi-platinum country star Corey Kent has accelerated the release of his powerful new single ‘Empty Words' after an overwhelming fan response pushed a teaser clip past 20 million views across social media. Answering calls from listeners eager to hear the full track, Kent moved up the release date to deliver the emotionally charged song sooner than planned.

Co-written by Kent alongside Austin Goodloe, Lydia Vaughan, Matt Roy and Joybeth Taylor, ‘Empty Words' pairs stark honesty with his signature country-rock grit. Built around themes of regret and reflection, the track captures the quiet fallout of realizing too late that promises without action carry little weight. Lines such as “She’s over empty words / Half-heart apologies / My broken promises” cut straight to the emotional core, as Kent lays bare the consequences of love unraveling.

“As a songwriter, it feels like catching lightning in a bottle when you find that line or double entendre that carries more weight than expected,” Kent shared. “So ‘Empty Words’ is really special because it says something heavy yet simply. I love that it’s already resonating with fans. Based on their insane reaction, we didn’t want to make them wait so we’ve bumped it up in the release schedule to get it to them even sooner.”

The new single follows Kent’s recent collaboration with Koe Wetzel, ‘Rocky Mountain Low,' which is currently climbing the country radio charts. Both tracks mark the first new music since his 2025 EP Poster Child and continue a run of momentum that has seen Kent surpass one billion career streams. His second No. 1 single ‘This Heart' was recently certified Gold by the RIAA, while “Something’s Gonna Kill Me” edges toward Platinum status, joining his triple-Platinum breakout hit ‘Wild As Her.'

Looking ahead, the Oklahoma native is set for a packed international schedule. In February 2026, he will join Jason Aldean’s Full Throttle World Tour for dates across Australia and New Zealand. He is also slated to return to Stagecoach in Indio, California on April 25, before heading back overseas in May for the Highways Festival in London and a run of headline shows in Germany and The Netherlands, continuing to build his global presence.
