Crowded House confirmed for Eden Sessions 2024

Crowded House have been confirmed for the 2024 Eden Sessions, performing their decades-spanning hits on Wednesday 12th June 2024.

Forming in Melbourne, Australia, in 1985, Crowded House have sold 15 million albums worldwide, with four number one albums in Australia, earning them 13 ARIA Awards, an MTV Video Music Award and a BRIT Award.

Rita Broe, Managing Director of Eden Sessions Ltd, said, ā€œCrowded House have a back catalogue that spans decades and weā€™re very excited to welcome them to the Eden Sessions stage. Their timeless classics are bound to get the crowd singing along on what promises to be a really special night.ā€

The bandā€™s self-titled debut album was released in 1986 to huge acclaim, achieving platinum status in four countries. It included the massive hits “Donā€™t Dream Itā€™s Over” and ‘Something So Strong;. The former became an international hit, reaching number one in New Zealand and Canada, and number two on the US Billboard Hot 100.

The original line-up consisted of Neil Finn (vocals, guitar, keys, and lyrics), Nick Seymour (bass and keys), and the late Paul Hester (drums and vocals). Over the years, the group has welcomed numerous high-profile musicians as members. Notable additions included multi-instrumentalist Mark Hart of Supertramp fame and Beck drummer Matt Sherrod.

The tragic passing of Hester compelled the band to regroup in 2005 to honour their former bandmatesā€™ memory. The band reunited formerly in 2020 with its current line-up, featuring original members Finn and Seymour, joined by Mitchell Froom ā€“ producer of their first albums ā€“ and Finnā€™s sons, Liam and Elroy.

Their latest album, ‘Dreamers Are Waiting’, was released in 2021, marking the first full album release in 11 years and scooping up yet another ARIA for Best Adult Contemporary Album.

Crowded House is the fifth show to be announced for the 2024 Eden Sessions. Already confirmed acts for next summerā€™s Sessions are Fatboy Slim (15th June ā€“ sold out), Suede and Manic Street Preachers (29th June), The National (2nd July) and JLS (13th July). More artists will be announced soon.

Tickets for Crowded house at the Eden Sessions on 12th June 2024 cost Ā£56 plus Ā£7.30 booking fee and are available throughĀ www.edensessions.com. Tickets are now on sale to Inside Track pass-holders. The general ticket sale is at 4pm on Monday 4th December.
