‘Strictly Come Dancing’ has confirmed its eighth celebrity for the 2023 series is actor and TV presenter Adam Thomas.
Best known for his portrayal of Adam Barton in the popular ITV soap ‘Emmerdale’, Thomas’ acting prowess earned him a TV Choice award for Best Soap Newcomer. Notably, he also reprised his role as Donte Charles in BBC One’s hit series ‘Waterloo Road’.
Thomas ventured into reality TV, participating in ITV’s “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here” in 2016. His stint on the show led to a spin-off opportunity as he co-hosted “I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp”.
Beyond acting and presenting, Thomas teamed up with his brothers Ryan and Scott for the ITV travel series ‘Absolutely India: Mancs in Mumbai’ in 2020. The heartfelt series saw the trio embark on a journey to reconnect with their heritage and long-lost relatives, all while discovering their family’s roots in Mumbai. Alongside his siblings, Thomas also co-hosts the popular podcast series ‘Mancs on the Mic’.
Talking about joining ‘Strictly’ Thomas says, “I am so excited to be joining the cast of this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. I’ve been such a big fan of the show for years, I can’t believe I’m actually doing it! I can’t dance to save my life but I’m buzzing to learn and have a good laugh with my pro. Get me on that dance floor… I can’t wait!”
He joins the previously announced Amanda Abbington, Angela Rippon CBE, Layton Williams, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Eddie Kadi, Angela Scanlon and Zara McDermott.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this autumn.
